Introduction
The Return of the Nephilim and The Alien Abduction Connection series of posts explores the very real possibility of the return of the Nephilim/Rephaim/Anunaki on a incomprehensibility massive scale; moreover, how modern science, the Book of Enoch, and the Holy Scriptures come into one accord on this subject.
The Nephilim/Rephaim of Genesis 6/1 Enoch 1-36 are being readied on a world-domination scale by the fallen Watchers (and humans well versed in transgenics, under their control).
UFO sightings and Alien abductions en mass, the panspermia/’life on Mars’ agenda, extreme cultural obsession with Star Trek, Star Wars, X Files and other sci-fi/’alien life’ shows, the dumbing down of Christianity…
These are but a few of the elements of the fallen Angels’ systematic rebellion to usher in the Great Deception/Apostasy; to deceive even the very Elect, were it possible.
This series will be exploring the relationship between the return of the Nephilim, alien abductions, the Great Deception/Great Delusion, and the massive end times falling away (a.k.a. The Great Apostasy).

Part 1: Nephilim/Rephaim/Anunaki Background and the Anakim, Nephilim, and Rephaim Connection
I highly recommend bookmarking this blog for easy reference, and perusing The Return of the Nephilim and The Alien Abduction Connection, 2nd Ed. PDF at your earliest convenience; as this PDF contains a great deal of excellent foundational information that we will be building off of.
We’ll start with an in-depth Bible study on:
- The days of Noah,
- The O.T. Sons of God,
- The Nephilim,
- The different types/tribes of giants,
- The Anakim/Nephilim/Rephaim connection,
- And where in Scripture they are found.
Scripture will be primarily quoted from the KJV (except when otherwise noted).
The Days of Noah
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
- Matthew 24:37
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that H had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
- Genesis 6: 1-8
Sorcery, astrology, bestiality, the teaching of weapons and warfare, imagination-defying demonic sex with humans, the drinking of blood, and cruel and unusual animal/human satanic ritual abuse are just some of the heinous and horrific practices going on in Noah’s time; the perfect breeding grounds for the ultimate evil demon-spawn (the Nephilim/Gibborim).
Sound familiar?!
Sons of God
Sons of God is Bene Elohim, in Hebrew and refers explicitly to Angelic beings; specifically occurring four times in the O.T. — Genesis 6:4, Job 1:6; Job 2:1, and Job 38:7).
From Easton’s Bible Dictionary (under ‘Angels’):
(2.) As to their nature, they are spirits (Hebrews 1:14), like the soul of man, but not incorporeal.
Such expressions as “like the angels” (Luke 20:36), and the fact that whenever angels appeared to man it was always in a human form (Genesis 18:2; 19:1, 10; Luke 24:4; Acts 1:10), and the titles that are applied to them (“sons of God,” Job 1:6; 38:7; Daniel 3:25; Bar Elohim – either ‘angel’ or ‘theophany’) and to men (Luke 3:38), seem all to indicate some resemblance between them and the human race.
Sons of God from Smith’s Bible Dictionary:
They are first spoken of in (Genesis 6:4) under the name Nephilim (Hebrew – ‘fallen ones’). We are told in (Genesis 6:1-4) that “there were Nephilim in the earth,” and that afterwards the “sons of God” mingling with the beautiful “daughters of men” produced a race of violent and insolent Gibborim (Authorized Version “mighty men”). I will now define define Nephilim.
In the Book of Enoch, the title Watchers is referring to the fallen sons of God (Bene Elohim) of Genes 6:4.
The Nephilim
Nephilim Definition (often times misspelled as nephalim, nephilium, nephillim, nephelim, nephlim, nefilim, or nephilum; sometimes plural – Nephilims – used to group all of the Old Testament giant races together, under one title):
- Hebrew Nephilim meaning: “violent”, “causing to fall”, or “fallen ones”- (Genesis 6:4).
- Greek Nephilim meaning transliterated as “earthbound”.
The Nephilim were the huge, violent offspring of the fallen sons of God (angels); around in both the pre-Antediluvian, and post-Antediluvian days (the Antediluvian period is that in which the great flood occurred).
The root “race” of giants is believed to trace back to the Biblical Nephilim race; of which numerous individual giant tribes branched off of, as time went on.
For example, in Numbers 13:33 this name is given to a Canaanitish tribe, a race of large stature, “the sons of Anak”; the Revised Version, in these passages, simply transliterates the original, and reads “Nephilim.”
In the Book of Enoch, Nephilim are not directly mentioned by this name; although there is absolutely no mistaking their presence. Also, like the canonical Scriptures, in the Book of Enoch there is absolutely no recorded history of female Nephilim (male Nephilim/sons of God only).
Rephaim Meaning
In Job 26:5 (A.V.), the Rephaim meaning loosely translates to “they that are deceased”, or “the shades” (the departed spirits in Sheol; where Enoch visits in the Book of Enoch; The Watchers); and Isaiah 14:9, it is rendered “dead”.
The Rephaim are also a race of giants (Deuteronomy 3:11) who lived on the east of Jordan, from whom Og was descended, and were probably the original inhabitants of the land before the immigration of the Canaanites.
The Rephaim were conquered by Chedorlaomer (Genesis 14:5), and their territories were promised as a possession to Abraham (15:20).
The Anakim, Zuzim, and Emim were ethnic branches of the Rephaim race, believed to be descendants of the Nephilim (Like an Italian, or Scotsman would be an ethnic branch of the European race).
In Samuel 21:16, 18, 20, 33, “the giant” is (A.V.) the rendering of the singular form ha raphah, which may possibly be the name of the father of the four giants referred to here, or of the founder of the Rephaim.
The Latin Vulgate here reads “Arapha,” whence Milton (in Samson Agonistes) has borrowed the name “Harapha.” (See also 1 Chron. 20:5, 6, 8; Deuteronomy 2:11, 20; 3:13; Joshua 15:8, etc., where the word is similarly rendered “giant.”)
It is rendered “dead” in (A.V.) Psalm 88:10; Proverbs 2:18; 9:18; 21:16: in all these places the Revised Version marg. has “the shades.” (See also Isaiah 26:14.)
The Anakim were a nomadic Cushite tribe/giant race, of which Goliath came from (1 Samuel 17:4), and the father of Anak, in the south of Palestine near Hebron (Genesis 23:2, Joshua 15:13); the same race as the Philistines, and the Egyptian shepherd kings, descended from Arba (Joshua 14:15).
The Anakim lineage/sons of Anakim (Deuteronomy 2:10, 11, 21; Joshua 11:21, 22; 14:12, 15) were actually referred to as the “sons of Anak,” (Numbers 13:33), and “children of Anak” Numbers 13:22; Joshua 15:14).
On several occasions, David encountered them (2 Samuel 21:15-22).
The Emim/Emin were a warlike tribe of the ancient Canaanites. They were “great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims” (Genesis 14:5; Deuteronomy 2:10, 11).
Named by the Amorites, the Zuzim/Zamzummim (q.v.) are found in Deuteronomy 2:20.
Gibbor (Job 16:14): A mighty one, i.e., a champion or hero. In its plural form (gibborim) it is rendered “mighty men” (2 Samuel 23:8-39; 1 Kings 1:8; 1 Chronicles 11:9-47; 29:24.)
The band of six hundred whom David gathered around him when he was a fugitive were so designated. They were divided into three divisions of two hundred each, and thirty divisions of twenty each.
The captains of the thirty divisions were called “the thirty,” the captains of the two hundred “the three,” and the captain over the whole was called “chief among the captains” (2 Samuel 23:8). The sons born of the marriages mentioned in Genesis 6:4 are also called by this Hebrew name.
Amorites
Highlanders, or hillmen, the name given to the descendants of one of the sons of Canaan (Genesis 14:7), called Amurra or Amurri in the Assyrian and Egyptian inscriptions. On the early Babylonian monuments all Syria, including Palestine, is known as “the land of the Amorites.”
The southern slopes of the mountains of Judea are called the “mount of the Amorites” (Deuteronomy 1:7, 19, 20). They seem to have originally occupied the land stretching from the heights west of the Dead Sea (Genesis 14:7) to Hebron (13. Comp. 13:8; Deuteronomy 3:8; 4:46-48), embracing “all Gilead and all Bashan” (Deuteronomy 3:10), with the Jordan valley on the east of the river (4:49), the land of the “two kings of the Amorites,” Sihon and Og (Deuteronomy 31:4; Joshua 2:10; 9:10).
The five kings of the Amorites were defeated with great slaughter by Joshua (10:10). They were again defeated at the waters of Merom by Joshua, who smote them till there were none remaining (Joshua 11:8). It is mentioned as a surprising circumstance that in the days of Samuel there was peace between them and the Israelites (1 Samuel 7:14).
The discrepancy supposed to exist between Deuteronomy 1:44 and Numbers 14:45 is explained by the circumstance that the terms “Amorites” and “Amalekites” are used synonymously for the “Canaanites.” In the same way we explain the fact that the “Hivites” of Genesis 34:2 are the “Amorites” of 48:22. Comp. Joshua 10:6; 11:19 with 2 Samuel 21:2; also Numbers 14:45 with Deuteronomy 1:44.
The Amorites were warlike mountaineers. They are represented on the Egyptian monuments with fair skins, light hair, blue eyes, aquiline noses, and pointed beards.
They are supposed to have been men of great stature; their king, Og, is described by Moses as the last “of the remnant of the giants” (Deuteronomy 3:11). Both Sihon and Og were independent kings. Only one word of the Amorite language survives, “Shenir,” the name they gave to Mount Hermon (Deuteronomy 3:9).
In Summary
Though wee could very easily go into much greater depth, the following points are important to come away with:
- Yehoshua declared that, upon His return, it would be as it was in the days of Noah.
- The Nephilim were around before the great flood.
- God destroyed the world due not to evil in general (or this very generation would abundantly qualify to be wiped out), but because everything (plants, animals, and humans) had been contaminated/violated by the Nephilim.
- Giants, in general (as one ethnic branch or another), were around in significant numbers after the great flood.
